Custom website design & development

Key answer: A company website that loads fast, ranks well and is easy to update. The same people are responsible for design and code, so what you approve in the mock-up reaches production with no surprises.

A website that works for your business

Your website is the first meeting most clients will ever have with your brand – and they decide in seconds. A well-designed site builds trust instantly, answers questions before they are asked and leads visitors to contact or purchase. A poorly designed one quietly sends them to your competitors.

At Sweet Lava we treat a website as a complete product: information architecture and content, design consistent with your visual identity, and fast, secure code. Design and engineering happen under one roof, so nothing gets lost in translation between a designer and a developer.

Problems we solve

  • The site doesn't show up in Google: we build with clean semantic structure, structured data and the kind of performance search engines reward.
  • The site doesn't convert: we organise the information hierarchy so a visitor knows within seconds what you offer and what to do next.
  • The site looks dated: we refresh the design in line with your visual identity, or design it from scratch.
  • The site is slow: we move sites to modern, lightweight stacks; 90+ in Google PageSpeed is our baseline, not an achievement.
  • Every small change needs a developer: we implement intuitive CMS panels anyone can use.

How much does a custom website cost?

A typical custom-designed company website runs €2,500–6,000; larger multilingual sites €6,000–18,000. Every quote is itemised: design, number of page templates, features, content and optimisation, so you compare scopes rather than bare numbers. If all you need is a simple brochure site, we'll say so plainly – and charge you less.

What we actually do

Design and content

We start by understanding your customers and business goals, then design the information architecture, wireframes and final visual design – on-brand, readable and built to convert. We also help shape content around the phrases your customers genuinely search for.

Technology that fits

We build on WordPress or HubSpot where a familiar admin panel and plugin ecosystem matter, and modern headless sites (Astro, Next.js + headless CMS) where speed, security and perfect performance scores are the priority. We will tell you honestly which approach makes sense for your case.

AI in the workshop, experience at the wheel

We work with AI daily: it speeds up competitor research, layout variants and content preparation. We treat it as a tool steered by design experience – you have to know when the model is wrong and hold a clear vision of the result. For you that means faster delivery with no compromise on quality.

SEO and AI visibility

Every site gets full technical optimisation: heading hierarchy, meta tags, schema.org structured data, sitemaps, performance. We additionally prepare sites for AI-driven search – so ChatGPT, Perplexity or Google AI Overviews can quote your company as a trusted source.

Integrations and analytics

We connect analytics (GA4 or lightweight, GDPR-friendly alternatives), forms, maps, booking systems, newsletters and CRMs – and configure conversion goals so you know what actually happens on your site.

How we work together

  1. Brief and estimate: we discuss goals, review your current site and competitors, and present a concrete quote with a timeline.
  2. Architecture and wireframes: sitemap and skeletons of key pages for your approval.
  3. Design: a custom visual design with refined typography and micro-animations.
  4. Development: performant, secure, accessible (WCAG) code.
  5. Content and SEO: content entry, metadata, structured data, analytics.
  6. Launch and care: publication, CMS training and, if you wish, ongoing care on a monthly plan.

Frequently asked questions

How much does a company website cost?

A focused company website typically costs €2,500–6,000. A larger site with a CMS, multiple language versions and fully custom design usually lands between €6,000–18,000. The final quote depends on the number of pages, features and content scope – after a short call we provide a free, itemised estimate.

How long does it take to build a website?

A standard company website takes 4–8 weeks from brief to launch. Larger sites with custom design and extensive content take 8–14 weeks. The timeline mostly depends on how quickly content and approvals arrive.

Will the website rank well in Google?

Yes – technical SEO is part of every build, not a paid add-on. We take care of heading structure, schema.org structured data, Core Web Vitals performance, meta tags and sitemaps. We also prepare your site for AI search engines (ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews), so they can cite your company as a source.

Do you use AI to build websites?

Yes, as a tool, not an autopilot. AI speeds up our research, layout variants and content work, while design experience steers the result – we know when a model is wrong and which way to lead it. For you that means shorter timelines without lowering the quality you approve in the mock-ups.

Which technologies do you build with?

We match the technology to the need – from WordPress and HubSpot to modern static sites (Astro, Next.js) with a headless CMS. Where maximum speed and security matter, we recommend the headless approach, which eliminates most classic CMS problems.

Can I edit the content myself after launch?

Yes. Every site ships with a CMS panel where you can change copy and images and publish new pages without technical knowledge. We run a short training session at handover.
