Frequently asked questions
Everything clients ask us before starting a collaboration: pricing, timelines, technologies, copyright. Missing an answer? Just write to us.
Working together
How does a collaboration with Sweet Lava start?
It starts with a conversation. You tell us about your needs and we ask questions – probably more than you expect. Within a few days we come back with specifics: scope, timeline and price. For more complex projects we suggest a paid workshop. You leave it with a plan solid enough to deliver even with another agency, if that's what you decide.
Can such a small team handle a large project?
Yes, and it is a deliberate model. The core is the four founders, surrounded by a proven network of senior specialists: developers, copywriters, photographers. We scale the team to the project, and you always work directly with the founders, with no intermediaries.
Do you work remotely and internationally?
Yes, we work remotely with clients across Poland and Europe, in English. Workshops run on-site or online. We are based in Kraków and happy to meet in person, but distance is no barrier at any project stage.
Who will I talk to during the project?
The people actually doing the work: the lead designer and the head developer. There is no account-manager layer. Decisions are faster and nothing gets lost between agreement and execution.
Pricing and timelines
How much does a website cost?
A typical custom-designed company website runs €2,500–6,000; larger multilingual sites €6,000–18,000. We always itemise quotes so you know what you are paying for. A detailed pricing guide is on our blog.
How much does an app or product MVP cost?
A web-app MVP typically costs €20,000–60,000; a mobile MVP from €15,000. The exact budget emerges from a scoping workshop where we trim features together down to the core that validates the idea.
How much does an AI implementation cost?
A pilot AI implementation – one process with a measurable result – usually costs €3,500–10,000. Larger integrations with your systems and data are quoted after a workshop. We'll also tell you plainly when AI isn't worth it: that recommendation is a result of the work too.
How long does a project take?
A company website: 4–8 weeks. A larger platform: 8–14 weeks. A visual identity: 6–12 weeks. An app MVP: 3–6 months. We set the schedule at the start and guard it together. The usual brake is client-side content and decisions, so we help with those too.
Do you require payment up front?
We work in stages: a deposit to start (usually 30%), then payments on acceptance of each stage. Longer projects are billed monthly. You always know what has been delivered and what you are paying for.
Technology and process
Which technologies do you work in?
Websites: WordPress, HubSpot or a modern headless stack (Astro, Next.js with a headless CMS). E-commerce: WooCommerce, Shopify, PrestaShop and custom platforms. Applications: React/Vue front-ends, Node.js/PHP/Python back-ends, React Native/Flutter for mobile. We match technology to the task, never the other way round.
Will I be able to edit the website myself?
Yes. Every site ships with a CMS panel where you can change copy and images and publish pages without technical knowledge. After launch we run a training session and leave concise documentation.
Do you handle SEO and AI search optimisation?
Technical SEO (structure, structured data, performance, metadata) is standard in every build. We also prepare sites for AI search (GEO/AEO), so ChatGPT or Perplexity can cite your company. We do not run link-building campaigns, but we build the foundation on which SEO genuinely works.
What about security?
Secure code is one of our principles: HTTPS with security headers, regular updates, backups, form protection, and in applications sound authentication architecture and data protection. Headless architectures additionally minimise the attack surface.
Rights and support
Do I receive the copyright to the work?
Yes. On project completion and settlement we transfer the economic copyright, and the code and source files are yours. No vendor lock-in.
What happens after launch? Am I left alone with it?
No. We offer post-launch care: updates, monitoring, backups, small changes and development on a flexible monthly plan. Most of our clients stay with us for years, project after project.
I already have a website. Can you improve it instead of building a new one?
Yes. We then start with an audit (UX, performance, SEO) that produces a recommendation: what to fix in the existing site, and when a rebuild is simply cheaper than patching. We advise honestly. Sometimes an audit ends with a fix list, not a new project.
Do you sign NDAs?
Yes, as standard. Part of our product work happens under NDA and we treat confidentiality as absolute, which is why some portfolio work is shown in anonymised form.
