Key answer: We audit and design user experiences – research and information architecture (UX), refined interfaces (UI) and AI experiences (AX), the new layer of digital products where conversation becomes the interface.

Experience is not decoration
A digital product succeeds or fails in the moment a user tries to do something – buy, find, get something done – and either succeeds effortlessly or gives up. Experience design is the discipline that makes them succeed: grounded in research, tested on people, measurable in data.
We work across the full spectrum: research and strategy (UX), interface design (UI), and the design of AI-powered experiences (AX) – the youngest and fastest-growing layer of digital products.
Problems we solve
- Users abandon the process halfway: we find the friction points and design smooth paths.
- The product has features nobody uses: research shows what users actually need.
- The interface is inconsistent and chaotic: we bring order with a design system and clear hierarchy.
- The company wants AI in the product but doesn't know how: we design AI experiences that deliver value instead of gimmicks.
- The team argues over opinions: we replace opinions with usability-test data.
What we actually do
UX research and audits
User interviews, usability testing, analytics and heatmap analysis, expert audits. The outcome is not a doorstop report but a prioritised list of problems with recommendations – from tomorrow's quick fixes to strategic changes.
AI visibility audit
New in our line-up: we check whether ChatGPT, Perplexity and Google AI Overviews can see your company, what they say about it and which content they cite. You receive a report with a concrete plan for improving your visibility in AI search.
Information architecture and prototyping
We design the product's structure: what lives where, what it is called, how users reach it. Wireframes and clickable prototypes let us test solutions with users before expensive development freezes decisions.
Interface design (UI)
A visual layer with your brand's character and systemic precision: grids, typography, colour, components, states, animations. We design in Figma, document in a design system and – thanks to our in-house engineers – know that everything we design can be built.
AX – AI experience design
We design experiences where AI is part of the product: in-app assistants and chat, intelligent search, automatic summaries, contextual suggestions. AX demands new patterns: system-prompt design, communicating uncertainty, graceful human takeover. We combine design craft with hands-on knowledge of what AI models can and cannot do.
Accessibility (WCAG)
We design products accessible to everyone – in line with WCAG 2.2 and the European Accessibility Act, which has applied to a large share of businesses since 2025. We treat accessibility as a component of quality, not a separate service.
How we work together
- Discovery: business goals, data, current pain points.
- Research: scoped to budget and decision risk.
- Architecture and prototype: structure plus clickable mock-ups for testing.
- UI and design system: the final interface with a component library.
- Implementation support: collaboration with development (ours or yours) through to launch.
Why Sweet Lava
We have been designing experiences for 22 years, since the discipline was still called "usability". Today we combine research craft, the eye of Academy-trained designers, teaching UX/UI to university students and engineering feasibility. And in AX, we are exactly where digital products are heading.
