Mobile & desktop app development

Key answer: We create apps for iOS, Android and desktop – native in feel, built cross-platform where that cuts costs without cutting quality. A complete process, from concept and design to app-store release.

An app users actually keep

Space on a phone's home screen is some of the most valuable real estate in the digital world – users install only the apps that deliver real value and ruthlessly delete the rest. That is why a good mobile app starts not with code but with a precise answer to one question: why would anyone use this every week?

We design and build mobile and desktop applications as complete products: with research, considered UX, design refined down to micro-interactions, and code that doesn't fail as the user base grows.

Problems we solve

  • The app idea needs validation: a workshop and prototype let you test the concept with users before committing a large budget.
  • The company needs an app for customers or staff: from loyalty apps to field tools for service teams.
  • The mobile site is no longer enough: we advise honestly when an app pays off and when a PWA (progressive web app) delivers the same value at a fraction of the cost.
  • The existing app has poor ratings: we audit UX and stability and design a recovery plan.

What we actually do

iOS and Android apps

We build cross-platform (React Native, Flutter), so one team and one codebase serve both systems – saving 30–40% versus two separate native apps. Where requirements demand it, we go native.

Desktop applications

Desktop tools – from business applications to specialised industry software – built with web technologies wrapped in a native shell (Electron, Tauri), which radically shortens development while keeping full functionality.

Mobile design

Designing for a small screen is its own discipline: hierarchy must be ruthless, gestures intuitive, every interaction instant. We design within Apple Human Interface and Material Design guidelines – but with your brand's character.

Back-end, publishing and growth

We build the complete server side (accounts, push, API, admin panel), take the app through App Store and Google Play review, then monitor stability and grow the product based on data.

How we work together

  1. Product workshop: goals, users, MVP scope and the decision: app, PWA or mobile site.
  2. Prototype: clickable mock-up of the key flows, tested with users.
  3. Design: the complete interface with a design system and animation specs.
  4. Development: iterative, tested on real devices.
  5. Publishing: store preparation, ASO, review process.
  6. Growth: analytics, stability, next releases.

Why Sweet Lava

Design and development happen in one team – the designer sits next to the engineer, so what gets designed is buildable, and what gets built looks exactly as designed.

Frequently asked questions

How much does a mobile app cost?

A simple mobile app (a few screens, login, core features) starts around €15,000. Larger apps with user accounts, payments and sync typically cost €30,000–100,000. Cross-platform technology lets you ship iOS and Android within one budget instead of two.

Native or cross-platform?

For most products we recommend cross-platform (React Native, Flutter) – one codebase runs on both iOS and Android, cutting build and maintenance costs by 30–40%. Fully native development makes sense for hardware-intensive products (AR, advanced graphics, specific system APIs).

Do you help with App Store and Google Play publishing?

Yes – we prepare the app for both stores' requirements, create the store graphics and search-optimised listings (ASO), and shepherd the app through review to publication.

Do you also build the back-end?

Yes. Most apps need a server: user accounts, database, push notifications, API. We build the complete back-end plus an admin panel for managing content and users.

How long does a mobile app take?

A mobile MVP typically takes 3–5 months from workshop to store release, depending on the number of screens, integrations, and whether the app needs its own back-end.
