What is llms.txt?

llms.txt is a text file in a site's root directory that concisely describes, in a form readable by AI models, what the site is and where to find its most important content – a signpost for AI systems.

An analogy: robots.txt tells crawlers what not to do; llms.txt tells AI models what is worth reading. The format is simple – markdown with a short description of the site and an annotated list of key URLs.

Standard status (2026): a community proposal, not a requirement – Google says it doesn't need it, while some AI tools do use it. Implementation costs about fifteen minutes, so the maths is easy: potential benefit at zero risk.

You'll find our llms.txt at /llms.txt – it describes the services, glossary and key content of this site in a form ready for model consumption.
